I've been working a lot on zero-waste projects recently and made some Christmas stockings from luxury surplus from a Scottish cashmere mill. They're fully lined in either cotton or recycled polyester, and each one is totally unique.
I've also put together some we sewing kits including a pin cushion with a pad of steel wool inside to clean and sharpen your pins, a needle case, some arrow pins to remind you to stop sewing and a wee square rule which I designed because I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I made some cotton gift bags for these which I'm disproportionately pleased with. More info on Etsy.
I was involved with a local disabled scout group this week taking photos at a fund raiser for the Group, and was inspired by all of the Scouts, both the young people who need assistance and the Scouts who give that assistance on a one-to-one basis. What stuck me most was the sense of fun and compassion. The Scouts range from ages 7 to 25, and are fund-raising at the moment to carry out vital improvements to their lodge.
So, I've listed some stockings and sewing kits for sale on Etsy with 25% of the price going to the Scout fund.
