Adding an in-seam pocket: couture method

Here's a way of sewing in-seam pockets entirely on the front piece of the garment - reliably flat, you can add a zip and super easy to French seam the pocket bags together. Result!

There doesn't seem to be a recognised name for this type of in-seam pocket, although I've seen it referred to as "the couture method" *

This front-piece-only method sounds genuinely clever—sewing the entire in-seam pocket flat before attaching it makes French seaming the bags so much easier. I'd love to see how the zip version looks in practice, since Photo Editor with Multiple AI Models could help visualize the finished garment.

I love that this method keeps the whole in-seam pocket on the front piece and still lets you French seam the pocket bags together—such a clever way to keep things flat and add a zip.
