Origami drafting
Wednesday 1st May
2:30 -4:30pm
Mandors, Glasgow
We'll go through the principles of drafting origami patterns. You'll create your own front bodice paper pattern, learning techniques you can use to make your own garments.
This is best suited to sewers with dressmaking experience. We'll work on the front piece of a standard size 12 close-fitting, sleeveless bodice block. If you want to bring your own bodice block to work on, that's fine too! The bust darts should be from the lower edge.
This class is about learning how to create the origami folds, and learning the skills to apply that to your own patterns at home. We'll be working entirely on the paper pattern. I'll bring examples of the pattern marked out onto fabric and also sewn up.
Included in the course: drafting paper and equipment.
